AI Transparency Policy

FINDING LLC, doing business as Finding Adam Finding Eve ("FAFE," "we," "us," or "our"), uses artificial intelligence (AI) as a tool in various aspects of our ministry. We believe in transparency about how AI is used and are committed to ensuring that AI serves human flourishing — never replacing the irreplaceable dignity of personal encounter, pastoral care, and the human heart.

This AI Transparency Policy explains how we use AI, what safeguards are in place, and what your rights are. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, and Coaching Agreement.

1. Our Approach to AI

FAFE uses AI as a tool to extend and enhance our ministry's reach, never as a replacement for human wisdom, pastoral care, or the sacramental life of the Church. Our guiding principles:

Human oversight always: Every AI output that reaches you has been reviewed, guided, or validated by our human team.
Catholic teaching as the source: AI systems draw from verified Catholic teaching — they do not generate theology independently.
Transparency: You have the right to know when you are interacting with AI and how AI is involved in the content and services you receive.
No automated life decisions: AI never makes decisions about your relationships, vocation, or personal life on your behalf.

2. How We Use AI

2.1 Virtual Coaching Insights (Game of Love — Level 0)

Our Virtual Insights Chat is an AI-powered feature that provides on-demand formation and reflection support. Details:

What it does: Responds to your questions and reflections with insights drawn from Catholic teaching, offering formation-focused guidance on topics like relationships, personal growth, prayer, virtue, and discernment.
Source material: The AI draws from a curated database of over 11,900 verified Catholic teaching passages, including the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC), Theology of the Body (TOB), Sacred Scripture, Papal Encyclicals, and other Magisterial documents.
Clearly identified: The Virtual Insights Chat is clearly labeled as AI-powered within the app. You always know when you are interacting with AI rather than a human coach.
Not a replacement for human coaching: The AI chat is a starting point for reflection and formation. For deeper personal guidance, we encourage you to engage with our human coaches (Levels 1–3).
No memory across sessions (unless opted in): By default, AI conversations do not retain context from previous sessions unless you explicitly opt in to conversation history.

2.2 Assessment Analysis

AI may assist in analyzing your responses to FAFE assessments (MATRIX, Know Thyself, Ready for Love, GIFT Couples Assessment):

What it does: Processes your self-reported responses to generate personalized feedback, insights, and growth recommendations.
Human validation: All AI-generated assessment insights that are used in coaching recommendations are reviewed by a trained human coach before being shared with you.
Not a psychological evaluation: AI-generated assessment analysis is educational and formational, not clinical or diagnostic.

2.3 Content Creation

FAFE uses AI to assist in creating educational and formational content:

Blog articles and resources: Some articles, social media content, workshop materials, and digital products are created with AI assistance. AI helps with research, drafting, and structuring — but a human author (typically Katie or Mike Palitto) reviews, edits, and approves all content before publication.
Catholic teaching citations: AI systems reference verified Catholic teaching via our citation database. Citations are never fabricated. Every reference to CCC, TOB, Scripture, or Magisterial documents is verified against the source.
Voice and authenticity: AI-assisted content is refined to match the authentic voice and perspective of our human authors using our editorial process.

2.4 Coaching Support Tools

For human coaching sessions (Levels 1–3), coaches may use AI tools to:

Prepare for sessions by reviewing assessment data and suggesting discussion topics
Access relevant Catholic teaching references for topics you are discussing
Generate draft reflection questions or exercises customized to your situation

All direct coaching interactions at Levels 1–3 are delivered by human coaches. AI assists in preparation and research, but the coach speaks with you, not the AI.

3. How We Do NOT Use AI

To be clear about the boundaries of our AI use:

AI does not make relationship decisions for you. No algorithm or AI system determines whether you should date, break up with, get engaged to, or marry anyone.
AI does not replace human coaches. AI supplements and supports our coaches — it does not substitute for the irreplaceable human elements of empathy, intuition, pastoral sensitivity, and the Holy Spirit's guidance through human encounter.
AI does not diagnose or treat. AI does not diagnose mental health conditions, provide therapy, or offer medical advice.
AI does not profile you for marketing. We do not use AI to create behavioral profiles for targeted advertising.
AI does not interact directly with teen users. In the Before Forever program (ages 14–19), there is no AI chat, AI coaching, or AI-generated interaction with students. All teen-facing content is created and reviewed by human educators and content specialists.

4. Data and AI

4.1 What Data AI Systems Access

Virtual Insights Chat: Your current conversation input (and conversation history, if you opt in). The AI does not access your My Story profile, coaching notes, or assessment results unless you share them in the conversation.
Assessment Analysis: Your self-reported assessment responses for the specific assessment being analyzed.
Content Creation: AI content creation does not use any individual user's personal data. Content is created from general topics, Catholic teaching sources, and editorial direction from our human team.

4.2 Training Data

Your individual data is NOT used to train AI models. We do not send your personal information, coaching conversations, assessment responses, or My Story profile to AI providers for model training purposes.
Aggregated, anonymized insights (with all identifying information removed) may be used to improve our own internal tools and content strategy, but never shared with third-party AI providers for model training.

4.3 Third-Party AI Providers

We use the following third-party AI providers:

These providers process data in accordance with their own privacy policies and our data processing agreements with them. We select providers that commit to not using customer data for model training.

5. Your Rights Regarding AI

You have the following rights regarding AI use in our Services:

Right to know: You have the right to know when you are interacting with AI rather than a human. AI-powered features are clearly labeled.
Right to human interaction: You may request interaction with a human coach at any time, at any coaching level. Contact [email protected] or use the "Talk to a Human" option in the app.
Right to information: You may request information about how AI was involved in generating content, insights, or recommendations you receive. Contact [email protected].
Right to opt out of AI coaching: You may opt out of the Virtual Insights Chat and use only human coaching services (Levels 1–3). Note that the Virtual Insights Chat is the only free, always-available coaching option; human coaching requires coaching credits.
Right to data deletion: You may request deletion of your AI interaction history. See our Privacy Policy for details on data deletion.

6. Before Forever Program: No AI for Teens

The Before Forever program (ages 14–19) does not include any AI-powered features that interact directly with teen participants:

No AI chat or virtual coaching for teen users
No AI-generated personalized content for teens
No AI analysis of individual teen data
All Before Forever content (curriculum, app content, exercises) is created by human educators and reviewed by our content team
The Before Forever edition of the Game of Love app does not include the Virtual Insights Chat feature

7. Human Oversight and Quality

7.1 Editorial Review

All AI-assisted content is reviewed by our human editorial team before publication. This includes:

Fact-checking all Catholic teaching citations against primary sources
Ensuring voice consistency with our author personas
Removing AI-generated patterns that feel impersonal or inauthentic
Verifying theological accuracy and pastoral appropriateness

7.2 Coaching Review

For AI-generated coaching insights used in human coaching sessions:

Coaches review all AI-generated insights before incorporating them into guidance
Coaches use their own judgment, training, and pastoral sensitivity to determine what is appropriate for each client
Clients are informed when an insight originated from AI analysis

7.3 Continuous Improvement

We regularly evaluate our AI systems for:

Accuracy of Catholic teaching references
Appropriateness of responses for a faith-based audience
Potential bias or harmful outputs
Alignment with our mission and values

8. Limitations of AI

We want to be honest about what AI can and cannot do:

AI can make mistakes. AI systems can produce inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate responses. Human oversight mitigates but does not eliminate this risk.
AI lacks pastoral sensitivity. AI cannot fully understand the nuances of your personal situation, emotional state, or spiritual journey the way a human coach, spiritual director, or priest can.
AI does not replace the Sacraments. No AI system can substitute for the grace received through the Sacraments, prayer, or authentic human relationship.
AI has no personal relationship with God. AI processes information and generates responses, but it does not pray, love, or have a relationship with Christ. Its outputs should be treated as a starting point for your own prayer, reflection, and discernment.

9. Updates to This Policy

We may update this AI Transparency Policy as our AI use evolves or as applicable laws change. The "Last Updated" date at the top indicates when this policy was last revised. Material changes will be communicated through our website and, where appropriate, through the app.
